If a notification is addressed to more than one recipient, there is the option to check the box “They share a single notification.” Checking or unchecking this option implies the following:

  • If the check is not checked : N notifications are created ( N different IDs ) and each one is addressed to a single recipient.
  • If the check box is checked : a single notification ( a single ID ) is created for N recipients . They will all receive the notice and any of them can accept it, but once it is accepted by one user, the rest will only be able to view it. The notification status of the first recipient who accepted it will be visible.

In this sense, if what the entity needs is to have evidence of the practice of notifying each and every recipient, it must be aware of not marking this check and, therefore, ensure that N notifications are created for N recipients, each of them with a different ID.

When is the single notification sharing functionality useful?

A use case for this functionality is, for example, for notifications addressed to the interested party and his/her representative(s). In this sense, if we want to notify a person within the framework of a procedure, we can notify them and their representatives and we only need to have evidence of the practice of notification to any of the recipients, whether the interested party or the representative(s).
