If the cards do not print accurately, before changing the ribbon, the following tests can be performed:

– Clean the printer with the card impregnated with alcohol (it is found inside the printer box or can be requested from CATCert) and from the Printer Diagnostics menu run a Clean Printer.

– Increase intensity when applying force to the print and therefore produce a more intense monochrome:

· Access the Tools and Properties (Printer Toolbox) of the Datacard printer. It can be accessed from the start bar by double-clicking on the icon with the printer drawing or from Start – Programs – Datacard.

· Once we are in the Printer Toolbox console, we must press Advanced Properties or Advanced Setup.

· Subsequently, by pressing the tab, we will be offered the “Printhead” option in the advanced properties:

· With the “Monochrome” option selected. You only have to move the ruler to the right if you want more power or to the left if you want less power. This power will translate into a greater or lesser intensity of black.

If the previous test fails, the following steps should be taken:

– Configure calibration from the printer's advanced settings:

· Run the Diagnostics for printers (through Start – Programs – Datacard Printer – Printer for Diagnostics)

· File option

· User Properties option

· Click on Advanced User

· Finally enter the password 926918

– Once this is done, you can access the advanced configuration and perform the last step:

· Access Printer Values

· Change K Power and K Base Power parameters. Preferably, each parameter should be increased by about 20 points.
