When carrying out the procedure with the T-CAT, after the adaptation of its profiles to the eiDAS regulations and the consequent separation of the authentication and signature certificate , it is possible that certain applications show both certificates and it is necessary to select the correct one depending on the type of procedure (authentication or signature).
The way in which both certificates are displayed and which will help you know which one to choose, will be (SIG) for signature and (AUT) for authentication .
NOTE: It should be noted that these profiles (SIG and AUT) can only be distinguished in the T-CAT certificates on Class 1 cards and the T-CAT certificates for Pseudonyms.
This is the information that will be displayed for each of the certificates.
- T-CAT (Signature) : Name and two surnames according to identity document (DNI / Passport) + “ – DNI ” + NIF of the public employee + “ (SIG)”
- T-CAT (Authentication) : Name and two surnames according to identity document (DNI / Passport) + “ – DNI” + NIF of the public employee + “ (AUT)”
Keep in mind that when you want to sign a PDF with the T-CAT card, you must select the SIG profile (signature).
You can see the difference in this video .
