A person who processes on behalf of another and, in addition to the processing form, provides documentation to support this fact or indicates that they are acting as a representative (without prejudice to subsequent requests).

This documentation shows that you can carry out any procedure before any Administration (power of attorney type A) or any procedure before a specific Administration (type B). In these cases, it is good practice to recommend to the person appearing the possibility of registering with Representa, since it is likely to be used on more occasions.

On the other hand, when the documentation shows that you can carry out a specific procedure before an Administration, which is exhausted with the completion of the specific action (type C), good practice consists of asking if you will carry out more procedures and, if so, recommending the registration of a type A or B power of attorney.

When the recommendation is made, the person appearing must be informed that the registration of the representation is voluntary, of the circumstances, their rights, the integrations of the register and it must be emphasized that consent is required. They are also informed of the consequences that arise (ex officio checks by other Administrations).

Therefore, in the case of in-person procedures from the OAC or OAMR, it must be checked whether the representation relationship is registered in Representa before entering a document and, if the result of the query is negative, registration can be recommended. For procedures carried out via the electronic channel, the previous query must also be carried out, so it will be necessary to complete the integration of the back offices with Representa in advance.

In both cases, it is advisable to indicate the following (via pop-up window, when checking the “representative” box, request or word):

You have indicated that you are a representative of another person. If you are authorized to carry out other procedures and actions on behalf of the same person, we recommend that you register the representation in Representa, the common electronic register of powers of attorney of the Catalan public administrations that is integrated with other similar registers. However, the above is not recommended if you are only going to carry out one procedure or if it is a one-time representation.

Registration in Representa is a legally valid means to accredit and provide reliable evidence of the existence of your representation, subject to the consent of the interested party and authorization for the processing of personal data.

The main advantages are that it allows you to process on behalf of third parties in a more agile and simple way because Public Administrations consult Representa (and the other integrated electronic registers of powers of attorney) ex officio and, therefore, you do not need to attach to the forms the documentation on which the representation is based. You can also manage your representations (registrations, cancellations, modifications) yourself from the Representa citizen portal.

If the representation is only for a specific procedure before an Administration, which ends with the completion of the specific action, you do not need to register with Representa.

Please see the terms of use , information on the processing of personal data and other information on the Representa support page .
